A Turkish investigative team searched the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul for DNA traces of the missing Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi on Monday.
Forensic experts equipped with special lights were seen searching the roof of the consulate. Turkish officials allege that Khashoggi was murdered and dismembered in the building by Saudi agents and claim to have found evidence to support these allegations.
Khashoggi went to the consulate on October 2 to prepare documents for his upcoming marriage but has not been seen since. His fiancee claims to have waited outside for 11 hours but says he did not return, although Saudi authorities maintain that Khashoggi left the building on the same afternoon as his visit.
