Armed with spray cans and protective masks, a posse of some of the country's oldest graffiti artists took to the streets of Juncal do Campo, Sunday, to show off their skills. The gang, whose members are as old as 88, belong to a workshop called 'Lata 65', that teaches elderly people the basics of street art. The travelling workshop, part of the WOOL Fest arts education group for seniors, was founded by Lisbon-based artist Lara Rodrigues. Each lesson begins with a tutorial on the theory and history of graffiti art and how to create stencils and spray-paint, and ends with the practical application of art in outdoor locations. Each participant can create their own 'tag' and also pick a theme that they would like to work with. Initially intended to be a one-off workshop in Lisbon, Lara is now hosting tutorials all around Portugal.
