George Zimmerman, Acquitted in Trayvon Martin Case, Injured in Shooting in Florida

According to police, George Zimmerman, who rose to infamy after he was acquitted by a Florida jury over the death of Trayvon Martin in 2012, was shot in Lake Mary, Florida, on Monday. Lake Mary Police Chief Steve Bracknell said Zimmerman suffered a minor gunshot wound. While local reporters speculated it may have been a road rage incident, citing a second person seen in a vehicle at the scene, the police department did not immediately release any other details. Video from the scene appears to show Zimmerman being helped from his car into an ambulance.
