Misrata-led forces continued their advance into territory held by the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), on Sunday.
Footage shows soldiers proceeding through the dilapidated buildings of the coastal city using Armoured Personnel Carriers and tanks for cover.
Government allied forces in Sirte, many of whom are from brigades recruited in Misrata, have reportedly freed 11 Eritrean female captives, a Turk and an Egyptian during the weekend's fighting.
Over six-month campaign, government allied forces, supported by US. air strikes, have taken back most of Sirte. IS militants are still holding out in certain parts of the city, using snipers, booby-traps and car bombs to waylay their adversaries advance.
The UN has estimated that 90,000 people have fled Sirte since it was taken over by IS forces a year ago. The final push to reclaim Sirte is the culmination of a five month campaign involving GNA and allied groups.
