Senior Corporal Lorne B. Ahrens, one of the five police officers killed in the shootings in Dallas last week, was buried in Restland Public Safety Memorial Gardens in Plano, Texas, on Wednesday. Ahrens was buried in the First Responders field where only firefighters and police officers killed in the line of duty are buried.
A funeral service for Senior Corporal Ahrens was held at the Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas on Wednesday, following a visitation on Tuesday. Ahrens was 48 years old and had served as a police officer for 14 years.
Ahrens was one of the five police officers killed during a sniper attack in Dallas, late on Thursday, during a protest against the police killing of African-Americans Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. A gunman was killed at the site after negotiations failed.
