Loretta Lynch to Travel to Baltimore

A Justice Department official said that Attorney General Loretta Lynch will travel to Baltimore on Tuesday morning to meet with city officials, members of Congress, law-enforcement officials, faith and community leaders and others. Lynch’s visit comes days after the city’s state prosecutor announced that six officers would be charged in connection with the death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray while he was in police custody. Gray succumbed to his injuries one week after his arrest.Lynch unveiled a $20 million pilot program to expand the use police body cameras last Friday, and the situation in Baltimore has dominated Lynch’s first full week in office.
