Ukraine: DPR forces halt withdrawal from Petrovskoye after Kiev fails to reciprocate move

Self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) will not withdraw its units from Petrovskoye village until government forces reciprocate the move, stated the DPR’s Deputy Defence Minister Eduard Basurin, who was speaking from the village, on Saturday.
The withdrawal was scheduled to take place at 11.00am local time. When the representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not confirm their readiness to start the process, the DPR halted their own pull back.
"11 o’clock passed, the Ukrainian side did not confirm that it is ready to withdraw its forces today from this settlement," said Basurin, before adding that "since Ukraine declares everywhere that they are ready for a peaceful solution, we were hoping that it will happen today."
Basurin concluded that “there will be no withdrawal in a one-sided way, only as it has been agreed - unilaterally. It should have happened after a rocket signal. Now we are waiting for the Ukrainian side to confirm when it is ready."
The contact group on the settlement of the situation in Ukraine signed a framework decision on disengagement of forces and assets on September 21 in Minsk. The withdrawal was scheduled to begin with the settlements of Petrovskoye, in the Donetsk Region, as well Stanytsia Luhanska and Zolotoye, in the Lugansk Region.
