SOT, Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister (Hebrew): "There will not be, and there cannot be a government that leans on Arab, anti-Zionist parties. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he would seek the formation of a "strong Zionist government" that does not rely on Arab-led parties, during a post-election rally in Tel Aviv on Tuesday.
Addressing his supporters following the vote, Netanyahu said that "there will not be, and there cannot be a government that leans on Arab, anti-Zionist parties. Parties that negate the very existence of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state."
He then vowed to "convene negotiations to assemble a strong Zionist government and to prevent a dangerous anti-Zionist government."
The snap elections were called following Netanyahu's failure to form a coalition government after the April vote. The elections have seen Netanyahu face former military chief (IDF) Benny Gantz as main competitor.
Exit polls suggest the race is too close to call. Results are expected on Wednesday morning.
