Hundreds of taxi drivers gathered at the Altare della Patria monument in Rome, Thursday, to lead a peaceful demonstration during a day of nation-wide strikes.
Drivers of Rome's traditional white taxis and trade union members went on strike to pressure the government into reviewing the so-called 'Uber amendment', which would see an easing of regulations for taxi companies, a move which critics say will benefit app-based companies like Uber.
