Around 300 pro-Palestine activists gathered in front of the Israeli embassy in New York, Tuesday, protesting against Israeli occupation of the former Palestinian territories. The event was heckled by counter-demonstrators who also showed up at the rally, exchanging offenses with their opponents. Pro-Palestine activists were wearing Guy Fawkes masks in Palestinian colours, chanted anti-Israel slogans and carried anti-Israel banners. The protest comes as violence has been escalating in East Jerusalem and the West Bank since Saturday, when two Israeli settlers were killed and two more injured in a stabbing in Jerusalem's Old City. Access to the Old City was then restricted for Palestinians. Between Saturday and Monday, three Palestinians were killed in clashes with the IDF and 698 were injured according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.
