Russia: Putin urges speed in the construction of the Vostochny Cosmodrome

You must keep to the deadlines. I know that there are some backlogs. I also know that recently there has emerged a positive trend that has seen the pace [of work] increase. You need to keep this trend going and make sure that all planned objectives are met. When is the first launch planned?" Russian President Vladimir Putin called for all deadlines to be met in the construction of the Vostochny Cosmodrome during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitri Rogozin and Igor Komarov, Head of the Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) in Moscow, Monday. The Vostochny Cosmodrome is a national project, meaning it is critical to be attentive and meet all the objectives, Putin said. The Russian president noted that despite some delays, the speed of construction of the cosmodrome is now in evidence. Rogozin assured Putin that the launch site will be ready by December 2015.
