A large group of protesters who disrupted the city council hearing of Kevin Davis in Baltimore on Monday took to the streets chanting "we'll never be defeated". 16 protesters were arrested after refusing to leave the the main chamber of the city hall as Kevin Davis was voted permanent police commissioner of the Baltimore Police Department. Police then closed off the entire upstairs balcony area. Protesters disrupted the hearing by chanting "Back up, back up, we want freedom, freedom! All these racist cops, we don't need 'em, need 'em." The group then took to the streets and started chanting "our streets". Baltimore has witnessed much unrest following the death of Freddie Gray in police custody on April 19, 2015. Six police officers have been charged in relation to Gray's death.
