San Francisco Defendant's Immigration History is Common

Before his most recent arrest, Juan Francisco Lopez Sanchez used the border between the United States and Mexico like a revolving door.
Now charged with the murder of Kathryn Steinle, Sanchez provides an anecdotal example of the nation's vast immigration problems.
For his history is quiet common among immigrants that enter the country illegally.
Since illegal re-entry is a felony crime, Sanchez has served almost 15 years in federal prison on three stints for re-entry.
Despite his arrests, incarcerations, and numerous deportations between 1994 and 2009, he has managed to return.
Exactly how Sanchez managed to keep slipping back into the U.S. was not clear.
