HSBC whistleblower, Herve Falciani, said that he will not attend his Swiss court trial, describing it as "not honest and fair" during a press conference with the Swiss Press Club at the Grand Hotel in the French border town of Divonne-les-Bains, Wednesday. Falciani said that citizens "are not obliged to respect laws which we do not agree on," adding that "it will be more interesting to do it in other countries, maybe the Court of Human Rights." Herve Falciani, a former HSBC employee, became well known after hacking the bank and providing data to the media on how HSBC allegedly helped clients avoid taxes, causing an international scandal and forcing authorities around the world to open investigations. The former HSBC employee will be represented by lawyer Marc Henzelin at Bellinzona's Federal Criminal Court for his process on Monday November 2. Falciani is accused of unauthorized acquisition of data, financial espionage and violating Swiss bank and business secrecy rules.
