Drone footage released on Tuesday, shows the Kerch Strait Bridge, set to connect the Crimean Peninsula with the Krasnodar Region, on the day of its official opening.
The construction of the 19-kilometre (11,8-mile) bridge, the longest in Russia, has been ongoing since February 2016. The bridge is opening for cars more than six months ahead of the deadline, as was foreseen by the state contract.
The bridge can accommodate up to 40,000 cars and 47 pairs of trains per day, with 14 million passengers and 13 million tonnes of cargo per year. The railway section is expected to open in early 2019.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is to attend the opening ceremony.
