McConnell Disputes Cruz Claims of ‘Special Deal’ in Senate Floor Speech

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says there’s no “special deal” to allow a vote on reviving the federal Export-Import Bank. That’s contrary to claims made by Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas.
McConnell never mentioned Cruz’s name as he opened a rare Sunday Senate session with a speech on the floor.
But he addressed accusations Cruz made in a blistering floor speech Friday. Cruz accused McConnell of making a deal to allow the Export-Import Bank to come to a vote, and of lying about it.
