SOT, Adam Schiff, House Intelligence Committee chairman: "I think we know now, based on the sample that I was attached to about Mr Sondland's statement, that the knowleedge of the scheme was far and wide and included among others, Secretary of State Pompeo as well as the vice president. We can see why Secretary Pompeo and President Trump have made such a concerted and across-the-board to obstruct this investigation and this impeachment inquiry."

SOT, Devin Nunes, Ranking Member: "Clearly, these ludicrous accusations don't reflect committee members who are honestly searching for the truth. They are the actions of partisan extremists who hijacked the Intelligence Committee and transformed it into the impeachment committee, abandoned its core oversight functions and turned it into a beachhead for ousting an elected president from office."

SOT, Gordon Sondland, US ambassador to the European Union: "I have now identified certain State Department of emails and messages that provide contemporaneous support for my view. These emails shows that the leadership of the State Department, the National Security Council and the White House were are all informed about the Ukraine efforts from May 23, 2019 until the security aid was released on September 11, 2019."

SOT, Gordon Sondland, US ambassador to the European Union: "Mr Giuliani's requests were a quid pro quo for arranging a White House visit for President Zelensky. Mr Guiliani demanded that Ukraine made a public statement announcing the investigations of the 2016 election DNC server and Burisma. Mr Giuliani was expressing the desires of the president of the United States and we knew these investigations were important to the president."

SOT, Gordon Sondland, US ambassador to the European Union: "What I recall was that I thought that a statement made by the new Ukrainian prosecutor that these investigations would be started up again and commence, would be sufficient to satisfy Mr Giuliani slash President Trump. As I recall, my mistake was someone came back to Volker or otherwise and said, 'No, it's not going to do if the prosecutor makes these statements, the president wants to hear from Zelensky directly."

US Ambassador the the European Union (EU) Gordon Sondland testified that he followed President Donald Trump's orders to put pressure on Ukraine to investigate his Democratic rival Joe Biden at the Senate Intelligence Committee hearing in Washington DC on Wednesday.
He claimed the orders came through Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Guiliani.
"Giuliani was expressing the desires of the president of the United States and we knew these investigations were important to the president," said Sondland.
Guiliani also specifically mentioned Burisma and the 2016 presidential election, according to his statement.
The inquiry is investigating whether Trump withheld military aid to Ukraine as a precondition.
If found guilty in a majority vote in the House of Representatives, Trump will face an impeachment trial in the Senate. A two-thirds majority would be required to remove Trump from office.
