Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro congratulated Greece for taking a 'historic step', after it was announced that 61.3 % of Greek voters had rejected their international creditors' bailout terms. "Today Greece has told the financial terrorists of the International Monetary Fund, the European Central Bank and the European elite that they don't kneel down to anyone", said Maduro during a speech at a military parade commemorating Venezuela's Independence Day in Caracas, Sunday. Maduro congratulated Greek Prime Minister Tsipras for calling the referendum, and declared "the Greek people have their right to life and they are going to conquer and build their own economic and political life." Governing party Syriza had campaigned for a 'no' in the referendum, demanding that the EU go back to the negotiating table regarding the country's bailout terms to its creditors; the International Monetary Fund, the European Central Bank and the European Commission. The interior ministry published the final results shortly after midnight, showing that 61.3% had voted "No", while 38.7% voted "Yes".
