SOT, Domingo Garcia, evacuated resident (Spanish): "Around 4pm we already saw smoke, it was very exaggerated. I had never seen a fire like that, the way it spread. It was getting bigger and bigger, and the flames were coming, approaching the neighborhood of Madrelagua.".

Some 2,000 residents and tourists were evacuated after more wildfires hit the Spanish island of Gran Canaria, as shown on footage filmed in Valleseco on Saturday.
Footage shows hillsides ablaze and local residents watching the flames and smoke taking over the sky, as well as firefighters preparing equipment. Animals were also evacuated.
"I had never seen a fire like that, the way it spread. It was getting bigger and bigger, and the flames were coming," said resident Domingo Garcia.
The Emergency Military Unit (EMU) ordered hydro-planes to return to the island from the mainland just a few days after combatting another ferocious wildfire.
