Around 100 protesters rallied in front of Barcelona's defunct La Monumental bullfighting arena, Friday, to denounce the Constitutional Court's intention to re-examine the decision to ban bullfighting in Catalonia.
Protesters exhibited numerous placards condemning bullfighting and chanted various slogans. Mavi, a protester, said "we are here because what we achieved in 2010, can't be lost now - Catalonia does not want bullfights."
Bullfighting has been outlawed in Catalonia since January 2012, after a People's Legislative Initiative, containing more than 200,000 signatures, was submitted to parliament, which voted to ban the practice in July 2010.
