Spain: Mogherini urges closer ties between EU and N. Africa

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini met with foreign ministers from Europe and North Africa in Barcelona, Monday to discuss terrorism and undocumented immigration in what she termed "the most difficult, turbulent region in the world." Mogherini called on leaders to strengthen cooperation between the two regions to fight against "terrorism" after the recent attacks in Paris and Tunis. According to the EU High Representative, Europe and North Africa need to increase cooperation on the security level as well as on economic and educational levels. She also suggested gathering annually to work closer after a seven-year hiatus since last meeting.
