Fox News Apologizes for False Baltimore Shooting Report

Fox News anchor Shepard Smith apologized to viewers on Monday after one of the network's correspondents falsely reported that a black man had been shot by police during protests there. Earlier in the day, correspondent Mike Tobin said he saw police officers chasing a man and that "a police officer drew his weapon and fired and struck the individual who was running away.” The Baltimore Police Department soon issued a statement declaring that no such shooting had taken place. The Baltimore Police Department tweeted, "The reports of a man being shot at North and Pennsylvania Ave are NOT true."
