SOT, Mahmoud Abbas, Palestinian President (Arabic): ): "May God rest [Yasser Arafat's] soul. This is the man who carried the mission and fought until the last breath. He protected [the mission], and handed it over to us. A question for all of us: are we able to protect it, too? He was the one who started it all, turning these efforts to a revolution that the whole world respected and saw as a movement to gain independence. God willing, this revolution will reach its goals, to achieve a free, independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital." *BUG AT SOURCE*

Palestinians gathered outside late leader Yasser Arafat's mausoleum in Ramallah on Monday, to mark the 5th death anniversary of the iconic president.
Hundreds were holding Palestinian flags alongside the yellow flags of Fatah, as they awaited the arrival of President Mahmoud Abbas, who was seen entering the mausoleum to pay his respects alongside other Palestinian authorities.
"This is the man who carried the mission and fought until the last breath. He protected [the mission], and handed it over to us. A question for all of us: are we able to protect it, too?" Abbas asked as he addressed the crowds.
Earlier on Saturday, thousands gathered in the main square of Gaza City and marched toward Arafat's house as a sign of respect.
Arafat, who was the first Palestinian leader to reach a peace agreement with Israel in 1993, died aged 75 in November 2004.
