Beating conflict with contortion, 12-year-old Mohammed Al Sheikh wowed locals in his hometown of Gaza City, Monday, showing off seemingly impossible acrobatics which have earned him the nickname of the Gazan Spiderman.
Guided by his trainer Mohammed Lubbad, the child prodigy exhibited his stunning gift at his local gym in the Tel Al Hawa area of southern Gaza City, letting loose an array of shocking body contortions and lithe backflips.
Mohammed shot to fame in Palestine and across the Middle East in 2014 after becoming a finalist on the TV show 'Arabs Got Talent' in Lebanon, shortly after Israel launched 'Operation Protective Edge', a military action in Gaza which saw the deaths of 2,251 Palestinians. Despite the violence interrupting the 12-year-olds training, Mohammed went on to make it to the hit TV show's finals, garnering 14 million votes.
His small stature notwithstanding - Mohammed measures 1.37 metres tall and weighs just 29 kg - the child acrobat dreams of contorting himself in the Guinness Book of Records, with his trainer convinced that the child's talent, technique and speed will lead him to deservedly achieve his dreams.
