The independent juries of the 69th Berlin International Film Festival handed out awards in eight different categories in Berlin on Saturday.
Brazilian director Eliza Capai's documentary 'Espero tua (Re)volta' (Your Turn) received the Amnesty International Film Award and the Peace Film Prize.
North Macedonian director Teona Strugar Mitevska's drama 'God Exists, Her Name Is Petrunya' received two awards — one from the Guild Jury, the other one from the Ecumenical Jury.
The Berlinale's independent juries are made up of members not selected by the Berlinale and they give out awards and prizes based on a range of criteria based on the groups and bodies behind them.
Other winners included 'Earth' by Nikolaus Geyrhalter, 'Dafne' by Frederico Bondi, '37 Seconds' by Hikari, 'Systemsprenger' by Nora Fingscheidt, and 'Monsters' by Marius Olteanu.
