Islamic State (ISIS, IS, Daesh) is "the result of events in Iraq and Syria, and the result of foreign interference in those countries," Former Afghan president Hamid Karzai said as he was interviewed by television network RT, in Kabul Thursday. Karzai explained that the Taliban is a part of his country, whereas IS "is not an indigenous product of Afghanistan." He went on to say that if ever IS expanded into Afghanistan, "it will not be ever possible without a foreign hand." Karzai concluded by saying that such an expansion would have the intention to "destabilise the region, particularly Central Asia, China and Russia."
