2 New Exoplanets — Both Larger Than Earth — Discovered Around Nearby Star

Astronomers have discovered two new alien worlds a bit larger than Earth circling a nearby star. The newfound exoplanets , known as HD 7924c and HD 7924d, are "super Earths" with masses about 7.9 and 6.4 times greater, respectively, than that of our home planet, researchers said. The planets orbit the star HD 7924, which lies just 54 light-years from the sun — a mere stone's throw considering the size of the Milky Way, which is on the order of 100,000 light-years wide.
