Hundreds gathered in Gaza City on Monday to rally against Israeli security forces raids on the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Some in the crowd covered their faces and held weapons, whilst others flew Hamas’ green flag adorned with the words of the Shahada: “there is no god but God. Muhammad is the messenger of God.” The march comes as Israeli authorities banned Palestinians from entering Jerusalem’s Old City, where the al-Aqsa mosque is situated. Only Palestinian residents of Jerusalem's Old City will be allowed to enter during the two-day ban. Israeli citizens, business owners from the area and students will still be allowed to enter the Old City along with tourists. The ban follows weeks of violence in and around the mosque. Two Israelis were killed and two others injured in a knife attack carried out by a Palestinian man in Jerusalem's Old City on Saturday evening. In a separate incident an Israeli teenager was injured after being stabbed by a Palestinian teenager in the early hours of Sunday morning. Police shot and killed both Palestinian attackers. At least 70 Palestinians were wounded in clashes with Israeli security forces over the weekend.
