Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu gave a high assessment to the Vostok-2018 drills results during an interview in Moscow on Monday.
He announced that those drills were to be held every five years from now. Shoigu was content with new military hardware which allowed Russian troops to be up-to-date equipped for nowadays military challenges.
"Of course we are not intent to advance to anyone. There are not even an element which presupposes that we are going to hold offensive operations on foreign territories," he said.
He also raised the awareness of building a church dedicated to the victory in the Great Patriotic war.
The Vostok-2018 drills are being held from 11-17 September, in the Far East of Russia. According to the Ministry of Defence, around 300,000 troops, 1,000 aircraft, 36,000 armoured vehicles and 80 vessels will take part in the biggest war games since the Soviet era.
