Russia: Putin slams “campaign” to rewrite history of WWII

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia will resist "all historical falsifications" and attempts to rewrite WWII that show the victors in a poor light, while speaking to the Federation Council in Moscow on Monday. Speaking on the Day of Russian Parliamentarism, Putin said that there was “an aggressive campaign” to “call liberators ‘invaders’ and to call Nazis ‘allies’ in the fight for liberty.” The Russian president described such moves as “historical falsifications” and underlined that all people share a responsibility to honour the "true heroes.”
