Protesters gathered in central Athens on Tuesday to rally against the Syriza government and the European Union (EU) on the first anniversary of the referendum in which Greek people voted 'OXI' (no) to the bailout.
Mainly comprised of left-wing activists from the Antarsya and Popular Unity parties, protesters marched to the EU Commission offices in the capital carrying banners and chanting amidst a tight police presence.
One year ago, 61.3 percent of registered voters in Greece opted for a 'No' vote on the bailout terms proposed by its creditors, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), European Central Banks (ECB) and European Commission.
