College teacher Natalia Plyuto shared her memories of how the horrifying events of the deadly shooting in Kerch Polytechnic College unfolded on Wednesday.
Plyuto was in the classroom during a break when she heard blasts that made the walls and windows shake, shattering some windows in the central part of the building.
She added that no one knew what was happening, until they heard a fire alarm and went out to find a student lying on the ground with his neck bleeding.
"People say a device exploded in the canteen at break, when a lot of children went down there. Usually the canteen is full," said the teacher, estimating that around 600 people remained in the building at the moment of the attack.
According to the Russian Investigative Committee, the attack was carried out by 18-year-old college student Vladislav Roslyakov, who went on a shooting rampage in the school and afterwards killed himself.
His body was found with a gunshot wound in one of the college's rooms.
According to EMERCOM, the death toll of the attack has risen to 19, with dozens of others wounded.
