Emergency services continued to rescue locals from the flooded streets and houses of Serbia's Kraljevo, Tuesday, after heavy rains and flooding left hundreds of people homeless.
Around 500 people have been evacuated in the region with some 300 houses severely affected by the flooding.
A state of emergency has been declared in Central, West and South-West Serbia, including the settlements of Cacak, Arilje, Lucani, Topola, Pozega, Ivanjica, Bajina Basta, Kraljevo, Raska, Novi Pazar, Ljig and Raca, Kosjeric, Prijepolje, and Trstenik. Obrenovac, a small town near Belgrade, was reportedly worst affected.
Local authorities called an emergency meeting earlier in the day with Serbian Prime-Minister Aleksandar Vucic calling to label the emergency situation a "natural disaster".
Serbia was hit by similar flooding in May 2014.
