Serbia: Pristina braces itself for huge anti-govt rally

17.02.2016
Police and army troops were seen patrolling central Pristina, Wednesday, just hours before thousands of protesters are set to flood the city and take part in an anti-government rally.
The protest was organised by Kosovan opposition parties, who are demanding that their government break its deal with Serbia. The deal, brokered by the European Union, will see the creation of an association granting greater power to Kosovo's Serbian minority.
Also on Wednesday, Kosovo celebrated the 8th anniversary of its unilateral independence from Serbia. Kosovan President Atifete Jahjaga was seen posing for pictures with children just a few hundred metres from where the opposition protesters are set to gather.
