Russia: Putin discusses upcoming SCO summit with Security Council

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with permanent members of the Security Council in Moscow on Wednesday, to discuss the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit.
The talks also focused on the development of foreign investments in the Russian market following the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum which finished on Friday.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Defence Minister Shoigu, among others.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation is a Eurasian political, economic, and military organisation which was founded in 2001 in Shanghai by the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. This year's summit is due to start on Thursday in the Uzbek capital of Taschkent, and will last for two days.
