Russia: World champion powerlifter killed in Khabarovsk - Investigation Committee

A 32-year-old former world champion powerlifter was murdered in a fight, according to the senior assistant to the Head of the of Investigation Department of the Investigation Committee in Khabarovsk Territory Ilya Gudkov, who was speaking from Khabarovsk, Sunday.
Gudkov said that "on the street near a cafe in the centre of Khabarovsk, there was a fight between two visitors during which a man, born in 1992, inflicted several blows to a man born in 1985."
The official then pointed out that the victim of the attack died at the hospital of traumatic brain injury." Russia's Investigative Committee in the Khabarovsk Territory opened a criminal case on the article 111, part 4, of the criminal code on 'Intentional causing of heavy harm to health entailed on imprudence death of the victim'," stated Gudkov.
The deceased, whose name has not made public yet, was a professional "World and European champion in powerlifting."
