A Viking 29031 all-terrain amphibious vehicle was presented and tested at the Army-2016 International Forum in Alabino, Moscow Region, on Thursday.
The Aton Impulse Company assembled the car in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny in the Russian Republic of Tatarstan. Due to severe road conditions in the area, Aton Impulse decided to create a vehicle appropriate for rescue operations in flooded and remote areas.
The car fits seven people including the driver, measures 5.25 metres (17 feet) and has a turn radius of 8.6 metres (28 feet). A special water-jet propulsor allows for the vehicle to move through water and reaches up to 15 km/h (10 mph).
Despite its size, the Viking 29031 vehicle has a low environmental impact and according to the CEO of the manufacturing company Artur Tuktarov, it is the first one of its kind on the Russian market.
