The moment the passport does not pass through the ABC, it already hinders the transit because our border is not prepared for so many people to pass through. Here there is much interest in the passage of the strait and even provides doctors, masseurs and everything that is necessary. The resources there are not scarce but we have to consider that more people pass by than those who go to the strait and we are treated very badly."

SOT, Juan Antonio Alvarez, leader of Mesa de Trabajo por la Linea (Spanish): "The Brexit is already affecting the situation here because the pound’s fall obviously has already affected an enormous number of workers, more than 10,000 who are in Gibraltar. That already means a loss. If we have a hard Brexit now, surely the pound's value would fall – because it will keep having consequences – but it will also affect the border crossing."

There are now some 11,000 people who live in our locality and are paid in pounds because they work in Gibraltar and suffered a significant drop in their salary."

More than 2,000 people took to the streets of the Spanish city Linea de la Concepcion, which lies north of the border between Spain and the British territory of Gibraltar, on Saturday to protest a no-deal Brexit.
Protesters, mainly Spanish workers holding positions in the Gibraltar region, marched through several streets of the city with flags of Gibraltar and the European Union, calling for cross-border workers’ rights to be respected.
Workers fear financial losses due to a possible fall in pound's value and difficulties in crossing the border, in the case of no-deal Brexit.
"There are now some 11,000 people who live in our locality and are paid in pounds because they work in Gibraltar and suffered a significant drop in their salary," said Mayor of La Linea de la Concepcion Juan Franco.
On Saturday, the UK Parliament passed a backbench amendment put forth by Oliver Letwin to withhold the approval of the Brexit deal until the legislation to enact it, is passed.
