SOT, Anis Karisa, Local (Arabic): "I saw more than one person filming and posting photos on social media, as if there is some kind of a festival in al-Jumhuriya street in the capital of Tunis, it's not that there is some event to celebrate but they are acting so. I personally want, after forty days of staying at home, to see and meet people, people should meet in person, not only on social media."

SOT, Munir Al-Ghuraibi, Local (Arabic): "Now, thank God everything, is returning to normal, we would like that to happen. With regards to cafes what matters is that people act in a responsible manner. People are not keeping social distance, you see them stick to each other. Those who serve in cafes *inaudible* what they should do is to abide by the laws."

Praise be to God, today life and people returned to people, praise be to God. As you can see everyone understands the situation and how to deal with it and now worshippers keep a distance between each other and all of them came with the masks and brought their prayer mat."

Tunisia reopened shops, restaurants, and mosques on Thursday, as most of the restrictions imposed to curb the COVID-19 pandemic were lifted after 3 months of lockdown.
Life in the capital Tunis could be seen coming back to normal with streets and cafes crowded with people.
The third phase of the national strategy for easing the lockdown comes as the African country announces success in the containment of the outbreak. According to the Ministry of Health quoted in media, out of the 1,087 people infected with the coronavirus, 968 have recovered while 49 patients have died.
Tayeb Al-Chawashi, the imam in one of the country's major mosques, was happy that "today life and people returned to people, praise be to God. As you can see everyone understands the situation and how to deal and now a distance between the worshippers and all of them came with the masks and their prayer mat."
Schools will stay closed to most students until September and some social gatherings are still restricted.
