Gurkha soldiers serving in the British Army took part in infantry training exercises Tuesday, as part of multinational NATO manoeuvres in Adazi, Latvia. The soldiers from the 2nd Battalion Royal Gurkha Rifles performed fire-and-move infantry drills using blank rounds as part of the US-led Saber Strike military exercises. The Saber Strike manoeuvres are held annually in the Baltic states. This year's drills involve roughly 1,600 troops from Lithuania and around 1,500 troops from NATO countries including the UK, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Portugal, the USA, Germany, Slovenia and Canada. Saber Strike has been held since 2010. This year's exercises are set to run until June 26.
