Czech Republic: March against Norway's child welfare policies hits Prague

Hundreds of people gathered in the streets of Prague as part of a European-wide protest to change Norway's child welfare policies, Saturday. The demonstrators marched from the Castle Square in the city centre to the Norwegian Embassy, where they held speeches and a conference call via Skype with Eva Michalakovych attending the demonstration in Oslo. Eva Michalakovych is the face of the movement against the Norwegian Child Welfare Service (Barnevernet) since her two Czech sons were taken into custody by the service. She will take her case in front of the European Parliament on June 2. Other protests also took part in Vilnius, London, Stockholm and Dublin among other cities throughout the continent.
