Greece: Tensions still high after clashes erupt at refugee hotpot on Chios

Tensions were still high at the Vial refugee centre in Chalkio village on Chios Island, Thursday night, after clashes reportedly erupted between Syrian and Afghan refugees.
Three people were reportedly injured while the medical centre of the refugee centre was completely destroyed. Police were immediately deployed to ease tensions, with an ambulance arriving at the site to offer medical assistance.
According to latest data by Greek authorities more than 2,000 refugees and migrants are on Chios island and 51,430 are stranded across Greece.
