Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard gave a town hall speech in North Hampton, New Hampshire, on Sunday, as she looks to build support in a key primary state.
"Washington is ruled by special interests and self-serving politicians and people who are making deals to serve their highest donors rather than actually looking out for and fight for the interests of the people in this country," Gabbard said, while addressing the locals.
Gabbard, 37, kicked off her campaign in late January. She joins a crowded field of candidates seeking to become to become president in 2020.
The Hawaii congresswoman is the first American Samoan and Hindu member of the Congress.
The Iraq war veteran has attracted controversy after announcing that she had met Syrian President Bashar al-Assad during a trip to the country in 2017.
