Thousands of Migrants Stranded at Sea Near Myanmar

According to the UN Refugee Agency UNHCR, Thousands of migrants are stranded at sea on smugglers' boats between Myanmar and its neighboring countries.
The migrants, believed to be between the Andaman Sea and the Straits of Malacca off the coast of Malaysia, are mostly Rohingya and Bangladeshi nationals.
One boat sent out a distress signal, with migrants saying they had been without food and water for three days, according to Chris Lewa, director of the non-profit Arakan Project, who spoke by phone to people on the boat.
