Pakistan: 15 injured as police open fire at doctor's demonstration in Quetta

At least 15 people were injured, 12 of them seriously, after police opened fire during a demonstration of doctors and medical staff in the Pakistani city of Quetta, Thursday. According to the 'Young Doctor's Association,' 20 of their doctors and medical staff were also arrested during the protest.
The doctors were marching near the Parliament building in the state of Baluchistan's provincial capital, chanting slogans, when police started to beat protesters with batons and sticks. As protesters refused to disperse, police officers began shooting in the air, causing protesters to panic and run.
The march was called by the 'Young Doctors Association' to demand an increase in the salaries of public hospital personnel. The vowed to keep their protest ongoing all Friday long.
