Thousands of Kurdish people and pro-Kurdish activists demonstrated on the Place de la Republique in Paris, Sunday, denouncing the "political war" of the Turkish government following Saturday's deadly attack in Ankara. The protest was organised by several groups including the France-Kurdistan association, the SOS Racisme association, and Federation of Kurdish associations of France. Protesters demanded an independent investigation into the attack and condemned the government of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. At least 95 people were killed and more than 245 left injured after two explosions rocked Ankara on Saturday morning. The blasts rocked the area near Ankara Central railway station, Turkey's busiest train hub. The bombs targeted the venue of the 'Labour, Peace, Democracy' rally, which was scheduled to begin at 10:00 local time (0700 GMT). The rally was planned by Turkey's biggest trade union in protest against the Turkish government's policy towards the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
