SOT, Eddie Gershon, JD Wetherspoon spokesman: "Wetherspoon's as a company has always been known as a company supporting Brexit, but we also say we want to stay friends with our European partners so we have a promotion called 'Let's stay friends', it comes into effect on Friday 31st January, which is Brexit day, and it runs for a month until the end of February, and a number of drinks from European producers, for example, Beck's from Germany, Peroni from Italy, Tyskie from Poland, Jameson Whiskey from Ireland. We're reducing by about 60p per product, so people know that our prices within the pubs are already good value, it will be around 60p a product cheaper. So that month people will be able to celebrate leaving the EU, which a lot of people are happy to do, but also as I say, stay friends with our European partners, support their drinks, enjoy yourself and it'll be cheaper as well."

SOT, Eddie Gershon, JD Wetherspoon spokesman: "We've always made it quite clear that Brexit will be very good for the country, and that would include Wetherspoon pubs, almost 900 across the country. And our customers, I mean our customers are probably equally split. Fifty per cent think it's going to be wonderful, 50 per cent probably think it's not going to be as good. We as a company think it's going to be very good for the economy, very good for us. We said only a month ago that we were going to invest £200m in the next four years, create 10,000 jobs and a lot of that is on the back of Brexit. So yes, we're very excited by the prospect."

JD Wetherspoon pub chain will discount a number of products from European suppliers to mark the UK's departure from the EU at the end of the month.
The 'Let's stay friends' promotion will see 60p knocked off foreign-owned brands for entirety of February. Beck's, Peroni, Tyskie and Jameson are among selected alcoholic beverages.
The company's media spokesperson Eddie Gershon spoke about the campaign in London's Moon on the Mall pub on Monday.
"Wetherspoon's as a company has always been known as a company supporting Brexit, but we also say we want to stay friends with our European partners," said Gershon.
"Support their drinks, enjoy yourself and it'll be cheaper as well."
JD Wetherspoon founder Tim Martin gained a public profile for his vocal support of Brexit.
