26.11.2016
Ministers from Bulgaria, Turkey and Greece opened the tripartite contact centre at the "Kapitan Andreevo" border point between their three countries on Friday. The centre will provide facilities to tackle problems with migration, organised crime and terrorism.
Police and custom authorities will exchange information and cooperate to stop migration and smuggling. This is the first centre to be built between the three countries in the Balkan region, and was launched by the Interior ministers Rumyana Bachvarova, Nikolaos Toskas and Süleyman Soylu.
Bulgarian Interior minister Bachvarova said "I am convinced that the infrastructure here will help our efforts to combat the criminals and the contraband. I also believe will help the security from all sites of the border."
The three ministers cut a ceremonial ribbon to open the centre and held a press conference in the new building.
