Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Indonesian counterpart Joko Widodo said they had agreed to boost exchange of intelligence data and tighten security contacts in the fight against terrorism, during a media conference in Sochi on Wednesday.
The leaders of both countries also had a strong interest in cooperation “in the defence sphere, and within the security agencies," Putin said.
Widodo also mentioned “Russia’s investments in big Indonesian projects in the marine sector and the development of infrastructure." The president of Indonesia also said that his country supports Russian “projects in crude refining."
President Putin also touted work to simplify the visa regime between the countries.
The Russia-ASEAN summit is due to take place in Sochi between May 19-20, an event both leaders are scheduled to attend.
