Donbass militia in the Novoazovsk District, in the Donetsk region of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR/DNR), started a major pullback of tanks in accordance with the new ceasefire regulations, Wednesday. The withdrawal was overseen by the OSCE representatives and the Joint Centre for Monitoring and Coordination of the Ceasefire Regime in Ukraine. The observers verified what exactly was withdrawn from the frontline, the number of armaments and their calibre, and the location to where those weapons were delivered. Earlier this month the Normandy Four agreed that both the Ukrainian government forces and the Donbass militia troops would move both heavy and light weaponry to a further 15km (9.3mi) back from the frontline. That agreement was reached after the leaders of Ukraine, France, Russia, and Germany met in Paris to try to pave the way to a permanent peace deal in eastern Ukraine.
